Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority ruled Elector Software and the Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu parties violated the Privacy Protection Law during an election campaign in February 2020. Information from an Elector election database was leaked online, including voters’ personal information. Following an investigation, the authority said it discovered “serious information security deficiencies,” which it ordered be addressed. The authority is also working “to promote new arrangements that will allow a higher level of information security in access to the information in the register.”
