In an interview with The Washington Post, IAPP member Sarah Bruno talks about the trends she’s seeing in data privacy law. Bruno, a partner at Arent Fox, primarily advises major retail clients, including H&M, Diesel and Hugo Boss, on the kind of information they’re allowed to collect from their customers in light of laws that restrict certain collection, such as California’s Song-Beverly Act on ZIP codes. Meanwhile, Stephen Wilson, an advocate for privacy rights online and also an iappANZ member, talks with BiometricUpdate.com about his experiences in the field. “Privacy is about restraint,” he said. “What you don’t do, rather than what you do do.” (Registration may be required to access this story.)
