Black Hat USA 2018 took place this week as a record crowd flocked to Las Vegas to learn more about the latest security research and technology. While security may be the name of the game at Black Hat, it was clear from the opening speech that privacy was going to have a presence at this year's event. IAPP Associate Editor Ryan Chiavetta, CIPP/US, recaps some notable privacy news from the conference, such as Black Hat Founder Jeff Ross calling out the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 in his opening keynote speech, panels discussing pressing privacy topics and tech solutions privacy professionals could consider.
