Marc Mandel spent hours poring over a task for his new privacy service. It involved a key detail most probably do not have on their mind when launching a new product. He was looking for the right phone number. Mandel is the co-founder of Privacy Toll Free, a platform that recently launched the CCPA Toll Free service. Organizations can sign up to provide a resource for data subjects to express their privacy preferences through a toll-free phone number. IAPP Associate Editor Ryan Chiavetta, CIPP/US, spoke with Mandel about creating the service in response to the California Consumer Privacy Act and why future privacy laws will spark a rise privacy hotlines.
