The Open Rights Group and Big Brother Watch are urging the U.K. government to “take urgent responsibility” for the safety of data obtained by hospitality venues as part of the Test and Trace program, IT Pro reports. The organizations instructed data rights agency AWO to send a pre-action letter after reports of businesses misusing collected data. Open Rights Group Executive Director Jim Killock said the government is “failing in its most basic and fundamental duty of care for its citizens.”
