The Oakland Privacy Commission has approved its first-ever stingray policy, with the City Council and the Public Safety Committee to give it the "final stamp of approval," SFGate reports. Oakland, California is one of the country's first cities to craft such a policy, the report states. “I think this is a model policy and the amount of public discussion we’ve had here is remarkable,” said policy activist Mike Katz-Lacabe.
