A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Simple Laboratories, alleging violation of an Illinois privacy law, Cook County Record reports. Former employee Logan Tran and other plaintiffs allege the blood test laboratory violated the state's Biometric Information Privacy Act when it required employees to scan fingerprints in order to clock in and out. In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims he was never told the defendant was saving his biometric information. Tran is seeking damages of $1,000 to $5,000 per violation.
