Concerns are growing regarding the extent of and future considerations for employee surveillance rollouts amid COVID-19, Politico reports. While some companies have begun employing these measures to curb the spread of the virus in the workplace, privacy advocates fear the employee surveillance and unprecedented data collection will continue post-pandemic. Washington University's Daniel Noyes Kirby Professor of Law Pauline Kim said employee tracking could create "an avenue for more extensive data collection that's really unconnected with the public health emergency."
