Premera Blue Cross “says it was the victim of a cyber-attack that could affect 11 million people,” KVEW TV reports. Hackers gained access to the company’s information-technology systems last May, the company says, and the attack was discovered in January. The hack could have exposed Social Security numbers, mailing and email addresses and bank accounts, among other information, the report states. The tactics used were similar to those of the Anthem breach, PCWorld reports, indicating the same perpetrator may be behind both. Meanwhile, a company with more than 30 dental clinics serving low-income Oregon residents has also reported a breach. More than 151,000 patients have been affected.
