The Polish data protection authority, Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, announced a fine of PLN$40,000 was handed down to the mayor's office in the town of Aleksandrów Kujawski for violations of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The mayor did not come to a proper agreement with an outside contractor on data disclosures for the town's Public Information Bulletin, which resulted in a violation of Article 5(1)(a) of the GDPR. Additionally, UODO's investigation found four other GDPR violations related to the town's BIP data use. (Original article is in Polish.)
