U.S. federal and local law enforcement requests for Amazon user data is on the rise, TechCrunch reports. Compared to the first half of 2019, Amazon said it received 23% more subpoenas and search warrants and 29% more court orders. The company turned over all or partial user data in 70% of subpoena requests, 79% of search warrants and 74% of court orders. The number of requests overseas has dropped by approximately one-third.
