A strong theme of the IAPP's recent Privacy. Security. Risk conference seemed to be empathy, a reminder to privacy pros that while sometimes the job can seem faceless and revolve around data and digits, human beings are affected by the decisions we make, the algorithms we use, and the ethics we employ in real ways.
