Tim Sparapani grew up with an understanding of the importance of privacy. His parents, products of the '60s, were very concerned about government intrusion on its citizens. After 9/11, he took a job at the American Civil Liberties Union to, in part, combat unfair surveillance and policies like the No-Fly List. He later worked as director of public policy at Facebook and as vice president at the App Developers' Alliance, where he worked on government affairs, and policy.
