As the Article 29 Working Party studies the Privacy Shield text, companies on both sides of the Atlantic are doing the same. The recently released replacement for Safe Harbor has made headlines with any number of new features, from the ombudsman housed in the U.S. State Department to the annual summit that will be convened to reexamine how the agreement between the United States and European Union is performing.

There's even continuing discussion about whether the Shield will go forward in the EU at all.

However, there are many other operational requirements for companies that would like to join the program that have received far less attention. In this podcast, hosted by IAPP VP of Research and Education Omer Tene, a panel of thought leaders discusses the text of the Privacy Shield agreement and offers advice to companies looking to join the program, as well as thoughts on the Shield's future as a working adequacy agreement from the European Commission.

Featuring:

Omer Tene, VP Research and Education, IAPP
Monika Kuschewsky, CIPP/E, Covington & Burling
James Mullock, CIPP/E, Bird & Bird
Eduardo Ustaran, CIPP/E, Hogan Lovells
Miriam Wugmeister, Morrison & Foerster
