In this episode of The Privacy Advisor Podcast, Amie Stepanovich discusses her work at Access Now, an organization who's mission is to defend and extend the digital rights of users at risk around the world. She spends a lot of time fighting against government backdoors, and encryption plays a vital role in the work Access Now does. Stepanovich says she was infused with a passion for human rights at an early age, but it's not always easy work. "It's about small wins," she said. When it comes to fighting government surveillance, sometimes it's about incremental progress. "This is about doing what you can to make something bigger than yourself."
