South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission issued fines totaling 17 million won to four companies over data-processing violations under the Personal Information Protection Act 2011. Champ Study and DN Factory took the highest penalties at 5 million won for processing data without user consent. AM Plus was fined 4 million won for transparency violations, and Yeungjin University will pay 3 million won over breach of data deletion provisions.
