The Philippines National Privacy Commission has begun conducting on-site compliance visits for both public and private entities to ensure they are meeting provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012. NPC officials said the visits were an opportunity to determine if personal information controllers and personal information processors could “demonstrate organizational commitment, program controls and review mechanisms,” to promise data and privacy protection. The PICs and PIPs came from industries that included media, hotels, courier services, schools, and national and local government entities.
