The National Association of Data Protection Officers of the Philippines has recommended that industry groups devise their own privacy codes geared toward complying with the country's Data Privacy Act, The Philippine Star reports. NADPOP Founding President Sam Jacoba said adopting codes within a sector would help create a road map for compliance efforts for respective groups. "Recently, the [financial technology] industry is the one put on the spotlight because of the debt shaming that happened. As a result of that, the fintech association of the Philippines came up with a code of conduct and code of ethics. The same should be done per industry," Jacoba said.
