Organizations are still working to fulfill the data subject access requests they have received in order to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The IAPP-EY Annual Governance Report 2019, which was published earlier this year, offers insight on how companies have handled DSARs so far. “The findings suggest that DSARs may pose a compliance risk for some controllers, the method used for handling DSARs may correlate to how difficult they are to process, and unstructured data is a major contributor to the difficulty of managing DSARs,” writes IAPP Research Extern Darya Balybina, who breaks down other DSAR-related findings within the report in this piece for Privacy Perspectives.
