Many people in the world of privacy have reacted to the life and legacy of Giovanni Buttarelli, who passed away earlier this week. However, it's possible no one can capture his essence better than Christian D'Cunha, the head of the European Data Protection Supervisor's Private Office. "He was entitled to be confident, and not only because of his debonair demeanour. He had a global fan base, the extent of which we are only beginning to fathom, as the tributes come flooding in," D'Cunha writes. "He concealed it expertly, but I believe it was what made him intensely sensitive to what other people thought and said and what gave him his insatiable hunger always to do more and do better." In this Privacy Perspectives post, D'Cunha shares his thoughts on all that Buttarelli was.
