Kate Macmillan

PwC has added Kate Macmillan to as director of its Cyber Security and Data Privacy legal team, the organization reports. MacMillan is formerly of Collyer Bristow with more than 20 years of experience as a data protection and privacy litigator. “I am excited to be joining PwC at a time when organizations are increasingly looking for support in meeting the demands of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation," she said. "The data protection legal team at PwC is widely recognized as a market leader and I look forward to continuing to grow that success with the introduction of a new area of expertise.” Company leadership also expressed pleasure at the addition of Macmillan. "PwC is investing heavily in our litigation and contentious capability in cybersecurity and data privacy in order to meet client demands," said PwC's global head of cyber security and data protection legal services, Stewart Room, CIPP/E. "As one of the leading litigators in the data field, we are delighted Kate is joining us to build out this core area.”


Jason Smolanoff

Kroll has named Jason Smolanoff as senior managing director of its Global Cyber Security Practice Leader, the company reports. He joins Kroll after founding and leading CISO Advisory & Investigations as CEO, with additional experience as Stroz Friedberg's managing director. “Jason is an extraordinary talent and globally recognized expert on the evolving cyber threats that enterprises, individuals, and governments increasingly face on a near-daily basis,” said Kroll CEO David Fontaine. “Throughout his career, Jason has been a pioneer, often developing new and innovative methods and techniques — all with an eye toward solving the real and challenging problems that clients encounter and must overcome. In joining Kroll, he adds yet another element to our growing and accomplished team of cyber professionals.” Smolanoff added that he was excited to serve on the Kroll team. Robin Campbell, CIPM, CIPP/US, has joined Squire Patton Boggs as both partner and co-chair of its Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. She previously worked as c0-chair Crowell & Moring's Privacy & Cybersecurity Group and was one of the National Law Journal's 2016 Trailblazers for Cybersecurity and Data Privacy.

Bart Huffman

Reed Smith's Houston, Texas office has added Bart Huffman, CIPP/US, as partner.  He formerly served as head of Locke Lord’s privacy cybersecurity practice and currently teaches "Privacy and Cybersecurity in the Information Age" at the University of Texas School of Law as an adjunct professor.
