Three towns in Pennsylvania have received attention from internet companies after announcing they are looking to pass laws that would prohibit internet service providers from sharing customers' personally identifiable information with advertisers without consent, Bucks County Courier Times reports. Comcast and Verizon have partnered with four national lobbying groups to try and convince town officials to vote against such measures in the town of Falls, Lower Makefield and Middletown. Falls is set to vote Tuesday and, if passed, would become the second local government in the U.S. to have such a law.
