Former Supreme Court of India Justice B.N. Srikrishna criticized the current version of the Personal Data Protection Bill during an interview with Moneycontrol. Srikrishna, a drafter of the original PDPB framework in 2018, called the current bill a "hotchpotch law" that is "loaded in favour of the government." With the PDPB's effect on international data transfers, specifically to and from the EU, Srikrishna said current provisions risk the same incompatibility that's arisen between the EU and the U.S. through the Court of Justice of the EU's "Schrems II" judgment.
