Hong Kong’s Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data advised "Pokemon Go" players to take the appropriate measures to protect their personal data, the Hong Kong Free Press reports. Commissioner Stephen Wong said residents should be cautious of the app’s ability to gather personal data, while adding the importance of understanding an application’s privacy policy before a citizen downloads it on their phone. Wong also warned citizens of downloading fraudulent applications from non-official platforms, while recommending players to understand the risks they face when downloading “game guides and cheat-sheet software.”
