The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data has released a compliance guide for the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance as an e-book, according to its website. Jointly published by the PCPD and the City University of Hong Kong Press, the guide was edited by Privacy Commissioner Stephen Kai-yi Wong and Guobin Zhu. It is "different from other ordinances in Hong Kong in that it is principle-based and generally more instructive than prohibitive," the document reads. "Its core provisions are encapsulated in six data protection principles" that are "the cornerstones of the Ordinance which aims to protect the privacy of individuals in relation to their personal data."
