According to Hunton Andrews Kurth's Privacy & Information Security Law Blog, a draft data protection bill was recently introduced by Pakistan's Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. The bill includes requirements for consent, legal basis for processing and notification of processing, along with outlining of data subject rights and breach notification obligations. Additionally, the bill mandates the creation of a data protection authority to oversee enforcement. Public consultation for the bill ends May 15.
