Oregon state senators introduced a bill to implement privacy measures for IT services in the state government, Government Technology reports. Senate Bill 293 would mandate the appointment of a privacy officer in the office of Oregon's chief information officer, facilitate the development of a privacy assessment tool for government IT projects, and require the government to contact anyone whose information has been used as part of those IT initiatives.
