Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum has called on the state’s legislature to adopt legislation that would prevent the collection and sale of student information to third-party advertisers, TNS reports. She said current law is outdated and does not appropriately protect personal information. “We essentially need a consumer bill of rights so that people know what their rights are online,” she said, adding, “There’s great things about technology, but we have to inform the people; we have to inform parents and the kids so we can be protected better online as well as offline.”
