The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Canada opened the draft guidance on facial recognition for police agencies to public consultation, IT World Canada reports. The OPC developed the draft guidance in June after publishing a report that revealed Royal Mounted Canadian Police violated the Privacy Act by using Clearview AI facial recognition technology. The public has until Oct. 15 to provide feedback on questions offered by the OPC regarding the draft.
