The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia announced data analytics firm AggregateIQ violated federal and provincial privacy laws through its use of data. Privacy Commissioner of Canada Daniel Therrien and British Columbia Information and Privacy Commissioner Michael McEvoy revealed the findings of their investigation into AIQ and why they believe the case highlights a need for privacy law reform within the country.
