New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner wrote a blog post regarding its "rare opportunity" to reorganize its strategic focus ahead of the Privacy Act 2020 taking effect Dec. 1. OPC noted statutory changes it will focus on but also indicated the modernized law allows for "discretion and judgment to be applied" to the office's work. Meanwhile, the OPC provided details on users' grounds for refusal of access under the Privacy Act 2020.
