The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada revealed Canada Border Services Agency suffered a data breach involving license plate information on approximately 1.38 million travelers, CTV News reports. In its Annual Report 2021-2022, the OPC explained the agency misinformed the regulator of the size of the breach during the 2019 probe. Only 9,000 license plates were initially reported to be involved. Meanwhile, the Calgary Parking Authority announced a 2021 personal data breach affected more than 145,000 customers.
