Ken Greenberg believes Sidewalk Labs is doing their part, citing their work with privacy professionals to identify solutions to potential concerns, their pledge to be fully transparent about their data-collection practices, and the potential benefits a smart city can bring to Toronto. On the other side, David Murakami Wood and Bianca Wylie argue privacy should be left to citizens and the government rather than a corporation, especially given the surveillance capabilities of a smart city.
