In an op-ed for The National Law Review, Zuckerman Law Attorney Dallas Hammer writes the federal government should “establish a uniform, comprehensive data privacy regulatory regime,” and that it must include protection for data privacy whistleblowers. Without federal legislation, businesses grapple with inconsistencies “of distinct regulatory regimes,” leading to compliance costs, Hammer writes, noting that those proposed and enacted state laws lack protection for whistleblowers, who “play a vital role in identifying and correcting non-compliance.”
