In an op-ed for the National Post, retired attorney and Canadian Jewish Community Forum Member Hal Joffe and Privacy and Access Council of Canada President Sharon Polsky call for the personal data on Canada's voter lists to be "more tightly controlled" following a federal election that saw "obvious" violent rhetoric and hatred. The voter lists contain the full names and addresses of legal voters and sometimes future voters, and are available to candidates before federal elections.
