In an op-ed for the Financial Times, Open Data Institute Vice President and Chief Strategy Adviser Jeni Tennison said the U.K. must choose its path on data protection post-Brexit. While a government task force called to replace the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, Tennison asks, “Why would we seek to remove what is already seen as the gold standard of data protection?” The U.K.’s “data protection regime instead requires reinforcing,” she said.
