In a blog post for Infosecurity Magazine, Security Engineered Machinery Sales & Marketing Associate Flora Knolton writes about the importance of physical data destruction, best practices and potential repercussions of failing to destroy data. Research by data erasure software company Blancco found 80% of respondents from 1,850 U.S. and Canadian companies said their unused devices are in storage somewhere, presenting “huge security issues” and “heavy compliance risks,” Knolton writes, adding, “it is imperative to be highly security conscious of our digital imprints.”
