In an op-ed, the Portland Press Herald Editorial Board wrote that Maine's privacy law is in for a "long legal battle," but the recent federal court decision favoring the law may prompt more legislative action around the country. "Maine’s success in this case could spark other states to create similar safeguards for their residents, and it could even inspire Congress to take on more sweeping privacy regulations," the board wrote.
