An independent "Data Protection Review Court" to be created under the EU-U.S. Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework is an idea worth considering beyond a Privacy Shield replacement, Schwarz Group Managing Partner Joel Schwarz, CIPP/G, wrote in an op-ed for The Hill. The review court “is an out-of-the-box solution meriting serious consideration” that could address areas of privacy harms in need of solutions, Schwarz wrote, including redress and opposition to a private right of action. The idea “is precisely the type of bold thinking we need in today’s privacy-centric world,” he said.
