In an op-ed for The Hill, Family Online Safety Institute Founder and CEO Stephen Balkam writes about creating a “culture of responsibility” to keep children safe online in a world where artificial intelligence is prevalent and continues to advance. Balkam writes this culture is one in which “online safety relies upon government, tech companies, schools, parents, and kids themselves.” This includes government creating regulations that don’t harm personal freedoms and protect children, training law enforcement to handle those who take advantage of AI advancements, and ensuring educators use AI responsibly as part of the curriculum.
