In a Forbes op-ed, CapTech Chief Technology Officer Vinnie Schoenfelder writes companies should invest in consumer privacy as an integral part of their organization. He recommends companies standardize data collection and management, be transparent about data use, provide value to customers for opting in, create systems that adapt with privacy laws, and create policies and procedures before they are required. Consumer privacy should be done “genuinely and with the purpose of making the customer experience easier and better,” Schoenfelder writes.
