In an op-ed in The Hill, U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., calls for a bipartisan agreement to regulate Big Tech as companies develop more potentially pervasive technologies. Lummis pointed to tech such as Apple's now-delayed program to scan users' iCloud images for "Child Sexual Abuse Material" and Google's Federated Learning of Cohorts, saying "the right to privacy is a bipartisan issue." As Big Tech companies "are innovating and pushing boundaries," Lummis says, "ultimate blame belongs with Congress, for not taking action."
