In an op-ed for MarTech Today, Kristina Podnar writes about the areas chief marketing officers need to address when trying to get ahead on new marketing campaigns, including focuses on privacy law and privacy by design. With privacy law, Podnar discusses the EU General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumer Privacy Act as two laws that will catch up with advertising technology's growth while making consumers "more proactive when it comes to protecting that data." Podnar writes adopting privacy by design "is a dual win" considering "you won't have to be constantly scrambling to keep up with changing legislation" and it "sends a strong signal to customers that you value them and their data."
