President Barack Obama has announced his forthcoming appointment of a host of cybersecurity and privacy professionals to the newly-formed Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity, The White House said in a statement. Among the appointees are Georgia Institute of Technology’s Annie Antón, Uber’s Joe Sullivan, and CrowdStrike’s Steven Chabinsky. “I have charged the Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity with the critically-important task of identifying the steps that our nation must take to ensure our cybersecurity in an increasingly digital world,” Obama said. “These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and talent to this important role, and I look forward to receiving the Commission's recommendations.” Editor’s Note: Anton and Peter Swire, CIPP/US, wrote a Privacy Perspectives post on the need for lawyers and technologists to unite for privacy’s sake.
