The White House announced Thursday the release of the final Data Security Policy Principles and Framework for its Precision Medicine Initiative. The framework is based on the administration’s cybersecurity framework and creates data security expectations and a risk-management approach for organizations taking part in the initiative. All federal PMI agencies will also integrate the framework across all PMI activities. President Barack Obama said, “We’re going to make sure that protecting patient privacy is built into our efforts from day one.”
