If confirmed, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh could be the newest U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit member thanks to President Barack Obama’s recent nomination, The Recorder reports. Koh is widely known for her frequent forays into Silicon Valley battles, such as the Samsung/Apple smartphone patent dispute and the LinkedIn breach settlement. “Judge Lucy Haeran Koh has distinguished herself as a first-rate jurist with unflagging integrity and evenhandedness," said Obama in a statement. "I am grateful for her service to the state of California and look forward to adding her considerable wisdom and experience to the Ninth Circuit court.
