The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner published its 2019–20 annual report, which highlighted government transparency and privacy protection during the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioner Angelene Falk said the focus on information access rights amid the pandemic sets "an encouraging precedent for the future of information management." The report also shows OAIC finalized 15% more privacy complaints compared to 2018–19, while notifications from under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme rose 11%.
