InnovationAus reports the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is bracing for budget cuts that may affect close to 50% of its resources. OAIC's 2020–21 budget is slated for $23.57 million, but the future financials forecasted a $2.46 million decrease for 2021–22 and a steep $10.21 million cut for 2022–23. At a Senate Estimates hearing, Commissioner Angelene Falk said the cuts "will have a significant impact on the functions of the agency," adding she will continue discussions "to ensure that the increased funding received in recent years is continued."
