The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner opened an investigation into an alleged data breach involving Australian telecommunications provider Optus. The OAIC is investigating the disclosure of customer details without prior consent. According to the OAIC, the investigation will look for "systematic issues that can be prevented by ensuring the right practices are in place" and could potentially "set a benchmark for all organisations and build trust in the community."
