New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner issued a warning to a charity shop regarding its closed-circuit TV system. A shop volunteer complained that CCTV cameras were installed without proper notification to employees or customers. The OPC advised the shop to disclose the locations of the cameras, their audio recording capabilities and their general purpose to those working at or visiting the shop. The shop was also advised to adopt "a robust policy around storage and retention" of video and audio recordings.
